Dr. Shahid Chaudhary is the Founder and CEO of Tigris Nephrology and is board-certified in both Nephrology and Internal Medicine. After graduating from King Edward Medical University, one of the most prestigious medical institutions in Pakistan, he completed his Internal Medicine residency at St.Francis Hospital affiliated with the University of Illinois. He subsequently completed his Nephrology fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center.
“My philosophy of care has been shaped by years of practicing in underserved communities across South Dakota and Western Montana. I have seen too many patients unable to access timely nephrology care, resulting in delayed diagnoses after kidney disease has already significantly progressed. These experiences reinforced my belief in the importance of early detection and timely access to specialized kidney care.”
Dr. Chaudhary founded Tigris Nephrology with a clear mission: to bring advanced kidney and hypertension care closer to home for patients throughout Western Montana.
He believes effective healthcare requires more than treatment alone — it requires clear communication, continuity of care, and strong collaboration between patients and their healthcare teams. Dr. Chaudhary guides patients through complex medical conditions using straightforward explanations and personalized care plans focused on practical, long-term outcomes.
His clinical focus includes early identification of kidney disease risk factors and slowing or preventing disease progression through modern, evidence-based therapies. His goal is to preserve kidney function as long as possible, reduce complications, and improve patients’ quality of life over time.
Dr. Chaudhary also strongly believes in physician leadership and organizational improvement within healthcare systems. Throughout his career, he has held multiple medical staff leadership positions and currently serves as President of the Medical Staff at Community Medical Center in Missoula. Among several additional leadership roles, he previously served as President of the Medical Staff and Chief Medical Officer at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital in South Dakota.
Hannah Elizabeth Watley is a Nurse Practitioner Specialist in Missoula, Montana. She graduated with honors in 2020. Having more than 4 years of diverse experiences, especially in NURSE PRACTITIONER, Hannah Elizabeth Watley affiliates with many hospitals including St. Patrick Hospital, Community Medical Center, Deer Lodge Medical Center – Cah, St Luke Community Hospital, Bitterroot Health – Daly Hospital, Tigris Nephrology Pllc.
Melissa Armstrong is a board-certified Physician Assistant with a strong background in preventative care and chronic disease management. Before becoming a PA, she practiced as a Registered Dietitian for nearly a decade, focusing on nutrition counseling and supporting patients with complex medical needs.
Originally from Billings, Montana, Melissa completed her Master of Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Utah, where she trained with an emphasis on primary care and serving underserved and rural communities. Meghan joined Tigris Nephrology in early 2024. Outside of work, she and her family enjoy hiking, skiing, and anything that gets them outdoors.
